In the end, it's also worth noting that Amazing Spider-Man #595 is at times laugh-out-loud funny. ... and you've got a near perfect scenario for Amazing Spider-Man to return to the top of the stack as it approaches its 600th issue.

There’s a well-built, ominous sense of foreboding, despite the lingering effects of the fun factor introduced by the likes of Scott and Guggenheim, and it all combines to make this feel how the beginning of a “big” Spidey story should.

This comic blew me away. My heart raced and I was cheering Spider-Man on, laughing out loud, and ended up being completely satisfied with the end result. I hope Kelly and Jimenez can keep up the steam they’ve got with this arc because it’s by far one of the best our favorite wall crawler has seen in a long time.
